Inspiration for “Dinner on the Farm” comes from fall nights in Mississippi spent enjoying sunsets, the evening breeze, sipping wine and partaking of the Fall’s fresh bounty. Dinner will be served in the open air overlooking  the Livingston Gardens. Chef Ken Ken Crotwell  from Sombra and Chef Matthew Sheeter from Farmers Table Cooking School will prepare dishes from locally grown farms.  The Farmacy’s Taylor Yowell will enlighten you on the fresh fall vegetables served with the evening’s meal. Bring your own plate and we will take care of the food and wine.

About Taylor Yowell our Farmer:

Born and raised in Madison County. Taylor began growing fruit and vegetables in 2008, in Hattiesburg, while attending college. After graduating college, in 2010, he moved to Northern California and completed two organic farming apprenticeships at Green Fire Farm and Rolling River Farm/Nursery. During this time he observed and learned how to grow a large variety of nutritiously dense vegetables using sustainable and organic methods. He also learned how to propagate and cultivate over 400 different varieties of fruit at Rolling River Nursery.  In early 2013, Taylor moved to Richmond, Virginia, to manage a vegetable and small livestock farm and spent some time at Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, in Charlottesville volunteering as a fruit gardener. He returned to Mississippi in the Winter of 2014 and  spent the 2014 season, growing vegetables with Native Son Farm, in Tupelo, MS.  In December 2014, Taylor arrived in Livingston and established The Farmacy where he’s been producing organic produce.
